Q

7 principles of training

A

Specificity - specific to the patients goals and needs

Overload - body should be put under more stress than its capable

Rest/recovery - allow body to handle exercise

Reversibility - if training is stopped progress is lost

Progressive overload - exercise needs to increase in intensity

Variety - decreases chance of patient getting bored/over training

Q

Principles of strength training

A

physiological overload - muscle tissue needs to be challenged to a greater level than its used to

Reversibility - adapted changes are lost unless training is maintained
