Q

What antibodies are released during primary response?

A
  1. IgM is first molecule released
  2. This disappears after 10 days
  3. As IgM decreases, there is concurrent rise in IgG

Q

What is 2ary response like in comparison to 1ary?

A

Rapid and greater rise in IgG molecules specific to that antigen

Very limited rise in IgM

Q

Why is the 2ary response much faster and greater?

A

Memory B cells for this antigen remain in blood - express specific B cell receptors on their surface

These receptors are the antibodies that the B cells will produce when they have been activated
