Crown complete at 3 years of age Eruption at 6 years of age

Primary crown formation
Crown formation begins ~6 months in utero
Crowns complete about 6 months of age (~10-12 mos after formation begins)
Roots complete 1 1⁄2 - 3 years after emergence
(root formation takes place during eruption and emergence)
Exfoliation & replacement with succedaneous teeth: ~6-12 years of age
Permanent crown formation
Crowns begin to form/calcify at birth → 16 years of age
Crowns complete ~3-4+ years prior to eruption
Roots complete ~3 years after eruption/emergence
