Procedure

A
1.	Assess Airway.
  •	Look & listen
  •	Open airway using head tilt/chin/lift and/or jaw thrust.
  •	Use airway adjuncts if required.
  •	If trauma, verbalise possibility of c-spine injury.
2.	Assess Breathing
  •	Look / feel for chest rise.
  •	Look for signs of respiratory distress.
  •	Assist breathing using bag mask if required.
3.	Assess circulation.
  •	Compress significant external bleeding.
  •	Feel pulse rate and strength.
  •	Start CPR if required.
  •	Assess CRT.
4.	Assess disability.
  •	Check GCS or AVPU.
5.	Expose, Examine, Environment.
  •	Appropriately expose patient.
  •.	Appropriately examine patient.
  •	Minimise environmental factors.
