Until the invention of the microscope, people believed in four humours and miasma etc
Microscope allowed for identification of microbes and spontaneous generation and then germ theory
How was Edward Jenner a turning point for prevention of disease?
Edward Jenner created the VACCINE for smallpox in 1796
Although innoculation was used, it wasnt always efficient and so Jenner proved vaccination was both possible and useful
