In what ways did Nazi treatment of the Jews change from 1938 -1945?
Para 1 = Segregation
- Nuremberg laws (1935) meant Jews could not be citizens
- Kristallnacht on 9th November attack Jews
- Jews had to add Israel or Sarah to their names
- Children forbidden from going to school
Para 2 = Isolation
- Ghettos, forbidden to own businesses or radios
Para 3 = Violence and final solution
- Jews forced to wear yellow star (1941)
- 1942, final solution death and concentration camps
Why was the Treaty of Versailles so unpopular in Germany?
Para 1 = Before treaty
- Initially people of Germany hoped for a fair treaty with all countries taking a share of the blame as they didnt believe they were responcible - Hoped the USA would be on their side
Para 2 = Humiliation
- People felt the treaty showed Germany as weak - People were humiliated - The country was made weak as its army was limited to 100,000 soldiers, and 6600 million was to be paid in reparations - and 15% of its agricultureal land was lost

- Germany was wholly blamed for the war - This was resented most of all as countries lost trust in Germany
Why were the Nazis able to punish Jews and minority groups in the years 1933 to 1939?

- After the Wall street crash, the great depression meant people were desperate for someone to blame (Jews) - Hitler's other policies of solving the economy, and making Germany stronger blinded others to his other stuff

- For the 1933 elections, Hitler killed opposition and made anti communist propaganda so people had to vote for him
- Hitler ruler with Terror so people were afraid of coming up against him an just did what he said to keep family safe etc (night of long knives)

- Girls were exercised for childbirth and encouraged to put on weight

-Girl youth groups prepared girls to be ideal Aryan women by learning cooking, sewing
