Prevention First Flashcards
Prevention First is designed to support and enhance the delivery of our key outcomes - what are they?
- Prevent crime and victimisation
- Target and catch offenders
- Deliver a more responsive police service
Describe the ‘Prevention First mindset’
Taking every opportunity to prevent harm
Prevention first puts people at the centre of our model. What are the core components of Prevention First?
- Deploy to beat demand
- Target the drivers of demand
- Mindset: Take every opportunity to prevent harm
The three components of Prevention First (deploy; target; mindset) are supported through what?
Partnerships - Working together with other agencies and making full use of opportunities to enlist their support, through interagency Tasking and Coordination, deploying our combined resources to beat demand.
“We are prepared and flexible, allowing us to mobilise resources pre-emptively and quickly get on top of demand” - what does this describe?
Deploy to beat demand
Our Deployment Model requires Police Districts to focus on the ‘crime triangle’ to what (3)?
- Act with urgency against repeat and priority offenders
- Provide support and assistance to those repeatedly victimised
- Maximise resources to locations that repeatedly suffer disproportionate levels of crime
Evidence-Based Deployment means what?
We use tactics that have been proven to work, and we evaluate the results of our interventions to determine whether we achieved the outcome.
Fill in the gaps of the deployment model - CCI, Insights Report, T & C, Operational Activity, (?), (?), (?)
