PRESSURISATION Flashcards
Where are the pressurisation outflow valves located? Where does the air supply for pressurization originate from?
Forward and rear bulkhead. Air con pack supplied by bleed air. (2 at rear in the 300)
What modes of operation are available for the pressurization system?
Automatic: auto, norm Semi-Automatic: auto, cab set Manual: man, control outflow valve position
Does the safety outflow valve require electrical power or bleed air to function?
it uses a slipstream operated suction, so neither
What is the outflow valve pressure relief setting?
5.8PSI
What diff pressure does the cabin pressure controller normally limit to? What is the maximum possible differential pressure?
5.5PSI, 5.95PSU max
Is negative pressure relief supplied? How?
On ground with the power reduced the normal outflow opens fully
What does a FAULT indication tell you?
there is a malfunction in the system
How do you set up the pressurization panel for normal operation?
Destination elevation and current QNH, Auto, Norm, manual know fully counter clockwise.
What about semi-automatic operation?
cabin altitude then Destination elevation on descent and current QNH, Auto, Cab set, manual know fully counter clockwise.
What is the range of the rate control knob in semi-automatic operation?
indexed at 300fpm descent and 500fpm climb. Max climb/descent 2500fpm/1500fpm, min climb/descent 150fpm/90fpm
Which outflow valve does the MAN control knob operate?
Forward outflow valve.
What is your first action to exhaust smoke from the cabin, flight compartment?
Open dump valve for the cabin or the forward outflow for the cockpit (manually or with the knob)
Describe what happens to the cabin pressurization system on touchdown? In what pressurisation modes will the touchdown depressurization mode be activated?
If field elevation is set then the aircraft will depressurise on landing.
If set higher then the aircraft will depressurise prior to landing.
If set lower then the aircraft will climb at 600fpm for 1 minute then open the aft valve.
What is the maximum permitted cabin altitude during pressurised flight?
8000ft
What happens to the pressurisation system during take-off with the bleeds ON?
Cabin pressurises to 140ft below elevation
