Pressure group definition
A pressure group is a group that tries to influence government policy or legislation by using a variety of methods.
Pressure group examples
-National reform union
-Reform league
-National union of women’s suffrage societies (NUWSS)
-The women’s social and political union (WSPU)
Why was the national reform union created
The national reform union was created to promote the joint interest between the working class and middle class.
Argued that both groups aims were similar - they wanted the vote but weren’t represented politically.
