Pressure Control Valves & Rod Gearing Flashcards
1
Q
What do pressure control valves do?
A
Maintain system pressure at designated set levels. They open and close as required to maintain pressure.
2
Q
What does a pressure relief valve do?
A
Protects a system against over pressurisation. Excess pressure is pushed into valve and normally put back into the pump suction.
3
Q
What does rod gearing do?
A
Allows a valve to be shut manually from another location. Used if machinery space cannot be reached due to fire flood etc. Maintained to highest standards and used in an emergency.
