Pressible Flashcards
“How do I get an image on my bio page?”
Pressible uses Gravatar.com – a tool built and run by the company that supports Wordpress. If someone has a Gravatar, Pressible will use it automatically.
“Can anyone sign up as an author on Pressible?”
No, only individuals with TC or CU emails can sign up. However, site administrators can manually add anyone (with any email) as an author using the “Add User” menu.
“Why is there a big empty gray bar across the top of my site?”
This is automatically filled with links to posts when authors use Categories (displayed as Topics).
“Can I put my logo on the top of my site?”
No, Pressible sites are part of a network, and follow a standard template (like Facebook pages). You can put an image behind the “circles” to add a splash of color.
“Can my site have a different WordPress theme?”
No, Pressible sites are part of a network, and follow a standard template (like Facebook pages) to allow for special functionality like “Related Posts” and “Reposting.”
“Why did my TC program choose to use Pressible instead of another blog?”
The Pressible Network provides a greater audience “funnel” than a standalone site, and a more specialized ed-focued funnel than another social blogging option (like Tumblr).
“Who gets the “Contact” email?”
The Site Administrator does, which is the person who created the site (not just any Admin). Find this person under Settings > General.
