presentation of quantitative data Flashcards
1
Q
tables
A
- raw scores converted to descriptive statistics
2
Q
scattergrams
A
scattergraph shows correlation between co-variables
- indicates strength + direction of correlation
3
Q
bar chart
A
- show frequency data for discrete (separate) variables
4
Q
distributions + skewness
A
- normal distribution = ball shaped curve = symmetrical = middle area of curve = mean, mode, median occupy same mid-point of the curve
- positive skew = most of the data is concentrated to left of the graph = mode remains highest point of peak, median next, mean dragged across to right
- negative skew = data concentrated to right of graph (opposite)
