Basics of proper body mechanics

A
  • consider BOS–> wider=better
    • larger==more stability
    • smaller==greater mobilty
      • unbalanced
  • assess environment
    • use equip to help you
  • pos. self close to pt or load
  • neutral spine/normal curve
  • avoid twisting
  • bend @ hips and knees
  • hold objects close
  • PUSH don’t pull
  • set trunk mm’s
  • align body to use larger/stronger mm’s
    • partial squat to utilize LE
  • exhale during lift
    • avoid valsalve
  • get help if/when you need it
