Basics of proper body mechanics
A
- consider BOS–> wider=better
- larger==more stability
- smaller==greater mobilty
- unbalanced
- assess environment
- use equip to help you
- pos. self close to pt or load
- neutral spine/normal curve
- avoid twisting
- bend @ hips and knees
- hold objects close
- PUSH don’t pull
- set trunk mm’s
- align body to use larger/stronger mm’s
- partial squat to utilize LE
- exhale during lift
- avoid valsalve
- get help if/when you need it
