how is mild PMS managed?
A
lifestyle advice
- sleep
- exercise
- smoking
- alcohol
- regular, frequent (2-3 hourly) small, balanced meals rich in complex carbs

how is moderate PMS managed?
A
new-generation COCP e.g. Yasmin (drospirenone 3mg and ethinylestradiol 0.030mg)

how is severe PMS managed?
A
SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor)
- may be taken continuously or just during luteal phase e.g. days 15-28 of the menstrual cycle
