- extremely common
- most consistent features: abdo pain, bloating, change in bowel habit
- may also be present: lethargy, nausea, backache, bladder sx

irritable bowel syndrome

- unilateral dull ache which may be intermittent / only occur during intercourse
- torsion / rupture → severe abdo pain
- large cysts → abdo swelling / pressure effects on bladder
dx?
A
ovarian cyst

- seen in older women
- sensation of pressure, heaviness, ‘bearing-down’
- urinary sx: incontinence, frequency, urgency
dx?
