Negative thought, stereoypes, fear, jealousy or hostility
What are the 4 characteristics of prejudice?
Majority believes:
1. Superior to minority
2. Minority is different and ‘does not belong’
3. Majority is more powerful and important than minority
4. Majority is insecure, fears minority will become more powerful and important.

Favourable treatment of person or social group who is victim of prejudice
Aims to promote greater equality by supporting people facing ongoing discrimination.
Direct discrimination
Occurs when someone is treated unfairy and is disadvantaged because of personal characteristics.
Indirect discrimination
Treating everyone the same way disadvantages someone because of personal characteristic
e.g all stairs, no ramps.
