when should Abx prophylaxis be used for surgery ?
GI surgery
joint replacement
give 15-60mins before surgery
what Abx should be given for MRSA positive ?
vancomycin
how should low, medium and high risk DVT prophylaxis be treated?
low - early mobilisation
medium - early mobilisation + compression stockings, 20mg enoxaparin
high - early mobilisation + compression stockings, 40mg enoxaparin
what is ASA grades?
physical status classification used by anaesthetists
