He made the Prague Spring Forms but he made it clear he still wanted to be communist however tried to keep a more socialist style. He reassured Brezhnev that they are still part of the Warsaw Pact.
What were the events of the Czechoslovakian crisis?
- Brezhnev warned Dubcek saying he’s going to far but he did nothing about it
- Czechoslovakia was imvaded by 50,000 Warsaw troops in August 1968
- Dubcek said notbto fight back so they threw flowers at the tanks, less than 100 people were killed
- Dubcek was arrested and taken to Moscow

It allowed freedom of speech, freedom of travel and ended censorship

Dubcek was forced to sign the Moscow Protocol so all his reforms would be reversed.
