Lateral Rectum - Barium Enema
Patient in lateral recumbent position - left or right 10 x 12 lengthwise - portrait CR vertical and perpendicular to IR CR enters MCP at level of the ASIS Arms away from abdomen Knees flexed forward SID of 40" Suspended expiration Gonadal/Abdominal shielding - as possible

Back to IR, MSP centered to IR
IR orientation (14 x 17) dependent upon body habitus
Side down elevated 2 - 3” on radiolucent pad
Arms extended over head
Knees flexed for increased stability
CR horizontal, passing through MSP at level of iliac crest

Arrow or decubitus marker
