Fir A if it’s fixed , try use more sensitive equipment like micrometer . (As we can’t change its distance typically)
2) for D increase max distance , more sensitive equipment
3) for X try measure the mist fringes you can, massively reduces the uncertainty

Use a glass screen with mm scaling, and use a magnifying glass to see exactly where it is
