Single tells you the time spent in the light gate (entering ti exit) . If you measure the distance of the object you can work out V (or input it and connect ti computer for it to do for you)

2) or use two light gates , one measures when sent in and second time it went out. Connect to computer and input the distance in between, it will work out velocity

3) or both light gates work out separate velocities and thus accelrwtion . Inout distances in, and it will do for you

So how to VARY THE INITIAL VELOCITY of something like a marble and measure this velocity for an experiment ?

Ramp , different angles or drop from different points
- drop from some point each time = same angle
- different points if release / different angles varies rhe speed
- measure the speed by placing the light gate right at the boot, when exits, prefersbley over so,e horizontal distance, as need to measure the v when it’s constsnt

Take a spring and compress and release at different compressions

• instead of saying use knwon k , x and convert to ke ti find v, using a light gate here would be much better as it accurately mesdures with low uncertainty

Doing other method , some ke is lost to resistsnce so not accurate
