16
Q

Describe variable geometry system

A

It prevents compressor stall and surge y adjusting the stator vanes in the N2 compressor section in the first 4 stages which are activated using high pressure fuel controlled by the FADEC

17
Q

What is the function of the operability valve?

A

Offloads 10th stage compressor bleed air during high loads to prevent surge and stall

18
Q

What actuates the operability valve?

A

FADEC by high pressure fuel

19
Q

What is attached to the accessory gear box?

A

3 - oil, fuel, hydraulics
2 - IDG, FADEC alternator
1 - ATS

20
Q

What compressor stages do we get bleed air?

A
  1. 6th stage normally

2. 10th stage under high loads

21
Q

What purpose do we pull off bleed air?

A
  1. Starting
  2. Pressurization
  3. Anti-ice
22
Q

How many injectors and how many igniters

A

18 objectors and 2 igniters ( A and B )

23
Q

How are the thrust levers connected to the Fuel Metering Unit?

A

Electrically

24
Q

When will the FADEC deactivate the APR

A

After landing

25
Q

Describe the auto-relight function

A

The FADEC will try 3 times and then the engine will flameout. It does so by energizing both the A and B igniters

26
Q

How much thrust in the max power detent.

A

14,510 lbs.

27
Q

How are the A and B igniters powered?

A

A - through the AC essential bus

B - through the battery bus

28
Q

How close must the N1s be in order to achieve syncing

A

1 1/2 percent

29
Q

What protection prevents engine over speed

A

The FADEC at 107% N2
