FADEC consists of
3 major parts

Identical software
If an issue control given to healthiest channel
Active channel alternates each flight cycle with Fuel Control Switch
Check Oil
o 5 minutes to 24 hours after shutdown
If outside of these times then
* Idle engine for 10 mins, shutdown, check after 5 mins
Rotorbow
o If Engine shutdown between 20 minutes and 5 hours
o Preforms a 50 second dry cranking cycle
o If TGT not < 120 C within 2 mins, auto aborts
Autostart Abort for
o HP doesn’t reach 12% within 50 secs during rotorbow
o No fuel flow within 2 mins of completion of rotorbow
o Idle speed not achieved < 2 mins of igniter commanded on
o HP < 41.2% after SAV open for 3 mins
o TGT not < 120 C within 2 minutes of starting
o TGT overtemp > 800 C
o No TGT signal
o Loss of HP signal to EEC
AUTO-RELIGHT
Always active when engine running
Initiated by EEC on detection of flameout
o Energises both igniters until 20 secs after relight detected
o Schedules fuel flow until relight detected
o If engine speed falls below 30% HP - Shuts down
QUICK RELIGHT Provides auto relight if
Fuel control selected OFF then quickly back to ON
If back to RUN within 15 secs
In Flight only
o < 16,500 ft
o 170 – 200 kts

FL250 – FL300 - 200 kts to VMO
< FL250 - 160 kts to VMO

Engine TGT > 30 C - 270 kts to VMO
Engine TGT < 30 C - 280 kts to VMO
Engine Start Cycle
Consecutive Start Attempts and/or Crank Cycles
o 2 start cycles with max 3 mins per cycle
o 3 start cycles with max 2 mins per cycle
Delay 15 secs between start cycles
After 6 mins – delay use of starter > 15 mins
Starter re-engagement
* Starter may be re-engaged < 49.7%
