Hammer toes
toes bend up at the first joint and down at the middle joint do that the weight rests on the tips of the toes. This fault is often associated with wearing shoes that are too short.
Hallux Valgus
Also called bunions. The big toe slants toward the midline of the foot. This fault is often associated with wearing shoes that are too narrow and pointed at the toes.
Ankle pronation
weight borne on the inner side of the foot “ankle rolls in”
Ankle supination
Weight borne on the outer border of the foot “ankle rolls out”

toeing-out while walking
Lateral plumb line
slightly posterior to coronal suture, through the external auditory meatus, through the axis of the odontoid process, midway through the tip of the acromion process, anterior to the thoracic lumbar vertebral bodies, through the bodies of the lumbar vertebrae, through the greater trochanter (slightly posterior to the hip joint), slightly posterior to the patella (slightly anterior to the axis of the knee joint), slightly anterior to the lateral malleolus, through the calcaneocuboid joint
Anterior plumb line
head neutral and level, shoulders level, sternum centered at midline, ASIS level, legs slightly apart, knees neutral, feet with normal arches and slightly toed out
Posterior plumb line
head neutral (extended) and level, shoulders neither elevated nor depressed, spinous processes centered at midline, PSIS level, legs slightly apart, knees neutral, calcaneus straight
