5-15 min/day as tolerated

How long after birth would you wait to begin perineal scar massage?
6 weeks postpartum

5 min every 2-3 days per tolerance

What are the risk factors of developing urinary incontience?
- develops during pregancy
- prolonged second stage ‘pushing’ of labor
- operative vaginal birth
What is a 3rd degree tear during vaginal birth?
up to external anal sphincter
What is a 4th degree tear during vaginal birth?
all the way through the external anal sphincter
What is diastasis recti?
widening & thinning of linea alba
How is diastasis recti diagnosed?
- IRD (inter-recti distance)
