A: extends thigh, flexes leg, rotates flexed knee medially, if thigh and leg flexed can extend trunk

Long head
P: Ischial tuberosity
D. Lateral head of fibula
N: Tibial division of sciatic nerve (L5, S1, S2)
A: Flexes leg, rotates laterally if knee is flexed, extends thigh
Biceps Femoris
Short head
P: linea aspera & lateral supracondylar line of femur
D: lateral side of fibula head
N: common fibular division of sciatic nerve (L5, S1, S2)
A: Flexes leg, rotates laterally if knee flexed, extends thigh
