D: Iliotibial tract & gluteal tuberosity
N: Inferior gluteal nerve (L5, S1, S2)
A: Extends thigh, assists in lateral rotation, assists in rising from seated position
Gluteus Medius
P: external ilium between ant. & pos. gluteal lines
D: lateral surface of greater trochanter
N: superior gluteal nerve (L5, S1)
A: Abduct & medially rotate thigh, level pelvis when ipsilateral limb bears weight
Gluteus minimus
P: external ilium between ant. & pos. gluteal lines
D: Anterior surface of greater trochanter
