Comfort: breast/nipple comfort
Hold: how much assist needed
What do you assess for the uterus during post partum?
auscultate, visualize, palpate, check fundus, check bladder placement, fundal tone, fundal height
What is the progression of the fundus after 6-12 hours?
fundus rises to the umbilicus

how well the edges of a wound butt up against each other
What is the importance of checking bladder placement and fullness?
a full bladder can cause the uterus to be displaced and increase risk of PPH
Bowel assessment:
sounds, movement, prevent constipation
Lochia (perineum)
perineal edema, management of edema and pain. bleeding, hematoma, hemorrhoids
