Post event discussion is where witnesses of an event discuss their accounts with each other.
Memory Contamination
Co witnesses to a crime discuss it with each other their EWT may become altered or distorted. They combine misinformation from other witnesses with their own memories suggesting that their memories of the event has changed
Memory Conformity
Witnesses go along with each other either to win social approval or because the other witness is right and they are wrong. The accuracy of recall has been affected.
RTS post even discussion is conducted by Skagerberg and Wright
Showed ppts two version of a flim clip of a mugging. one the mugger’s hair was dark brown and the second the mugger’s hair was light brown. It was found that they report the mugger had medium brown hair supporting that memory contamination during post event discussion does occur.
