The research into coding of the LTM has high control over extraneous variables.

A

It was carried out in a controlled setting for example the list of words would be matched on their difficulty and each word would be shown to participants for the same amount. This means it more likely to establish cause and effect between the list of words and accurate recall. increasing internal validity.
