Specific Action Tendencies

A

They are a specific set of behavioural options, linked to emotions e.g. Fear is linked with the urge to escape
They provoke responses that helped ancestors to survive from life/death situations and
Go hand in hand with physiological changes e.g. fear- body reacts by mobilising the appropriate autonomic support to run away from danger fast

Q

Thought-action repertoires

A

It is the mind-set in which thoughts and actions come to mind. This is narrowed during experience of negative emotions, so that less time is spent thinking about a response because the response needs to come fast.
