Q

What are the different types of stall warning indicators?

A

Small aircraft, use audible tone, or a red light, many high-performance aircraft use a stick shaker, an electric stall warning is used on the leading edge of the tab to move in the upward direction to close the circuit

Q

What is a reed type stall indicator?

A

Uses air flow through the cabin of the aircraft in order to create a tone, giving an indication of a stall happening. There are two points, one at the wing, and one in the cabin.

Q

How do you measure the angle of attack on an aircraft?

A

One method is with a slotted probe sticking out of the side of the aircraft fuselage
Another method is with a vane type sensor as the aircraft angle of attack increases. It moves the lever on the potentiometer indicating the angle.

Q

What are the two types of position indicating systems for alternate current?

A

The Magnesyn system that uses a permanent magnet in different poles, to send information from the transmitter to the indicator
The autosyn system uses an electromagnet to send information from the transmitter to the indicator
