Ascites: peritoneal fluid accumulation (build up of fluid in abdomen)

Collateral circulation vein development: PALM TREE SIGN or CAPUT MEDUSAE ser ut som träd av venerna på magen

Splenomegaly: increased spleen size

Diagnosis of Portal hypertension

A
Laboratory tests:
• Low protein levels,
• Increased AST, ALT, AP, GGT,
• Increased bilirubin,
• Ammonia in arterial blood.

Imaging test

  • Ultrasound (portal diameter)
  • CT scan
