Gastritis 2 types
It is a painful condition in which the lining of the stomach becomes inflamed.
Acute : Short intense pain
Chronic : consistent dull acbe
Gastritis risk factors:
Stress: hospital settings NSAID Helicobacter. pylori Diet Alcohol Tobacco Advanced age
Gastritis symptoms
- Heaviness
- Heartburn & pain
- Stomach bloating & flatulence
- Stool color changes = BLACK TARRY STOOL
- Nausea & vomiting = COFFE GROUND LIKE VOMIT
- Loss of appetite
- Indigestion/dyspepsia
Atrophic chronic gastritis 3 types
Type A, B, C
Atrophic chronic gastritis: type A
Body/fundus of stomach with anemia
Atrophic chronic gastritis: Type B
Affects antrum with H.pylori infection
Atrophic chronic gastritis: Type C
Chemical: realed to nsaids, alcohol etc
Peptic ulcer deinfition
A peptic ulcer is a break in the inner lining of the stomach, the first part of the small intestine, or sometimes the lower esophagus.
Gastric ulcer = malignant yes
Duadenal ulcer = non-malignant
Symptoms peptic ulcer
Most common is pain and burning sensation in middle of abdomen, pain is more intense when stomach is empty
Also bloating, fullness, vomiting, weight loss etc
Diagnostic test peptic ulcer
Barrium swallow Endoscopy Biopsy Hemoglobin in blood Fecal occult blood test (blod som inte är synligt)
Diagnostic test for peptic ulcer caused by H.pylori
Antibody test in the blood
Bra breath test
Stool antigen test
Stomach biopsy
Gastrinoma definition
Pancreatic tumor that produces gastrin, a hormone that stimulates hydrochloric acid production by parietal cells.
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome = tumor in gastric secreting cells –> ulcer in stomach
Gastric adenocarinoma
Most frequent type of malignant gastric tumor
Hypochloridria
To much antacid and H.pylri. = lead to abnormal low levels of gastric acid
