A
Baixo corgo
= lightest wines
Coma corgo
= greatest number of top vineyard, coolest+ wettest
Douro superior
= sparsely planted, Reno and source top quality wine

How is the climate like in port
A
Warm continental
Shielded from cooling, rain bearing Atlantic winds
Vineyards become hotter and dryer further east
Frosts in spring + heavy downpours disrupt flowering and harvest
Daytime temperatures are very high and rain but it’s very low
