people have left rural areas in search of work in cities this has lead to the growth of cities they also have more services ans oppourtunties whitch attract people looking for a higher standard of living

low marriage rates , abandonment of agricultural land and political and economic isolation eg west of ireland

can lead to overcrowding, lack of green space, shortage of clean water and pollutuion eg dublin
