what is dermatomyositis?
this is a variant of the disease where skin manifestations are prominent.

Typically affects middle aged women

o Diffuse weakness in proximal muscles o Raynaud’s o Respiratory muscle weakness o Interstitial lung disease o Dysphagia o Dysphonia

o Macular rash over the back and the shoulder
o Heliotrope rash in the periorbital region
