Q

explain how recycling can reduce the amount of landfill and conserve resources

A

less metal ore has to be extracted from the ground. less energy is needed to recycle than produce new material. trees do not have to be cut down, takes less energy to recycle than to make it new from trees. recycling plastics saves using oil. reduces the amount of waste that we incinerate or dump into landfill sites.
