name the 4 different types of drugs
painkillers, stimulant, depressant, and hallucinogen
give an example of a painkiller, and explain what it does
morphine, blocks nerve impulses from pain receptors so you dont feel as much pain
give an example of a stimulant, and explain what it does
caffeine, increases neurotransmission at synapses, so increases speed of reaction, which reduces reaction time
give an example of a depressant, and explain what it does
alcohol, slows the activity of the brain, so increases reaction time
give an example of a hallucinogen, and explain what it does
LSD, change perception, can make it difficult to distinguish between real or not real
