You should contact Poison Control when:

A
  • The calling party specifically request the advice of Poison Control (A complete call assessment should be done first)
  • The crew on scene requests to be conference in with Poison Control
  • The patient has take any combination of drugs, medications or poisonous substances where the patient would benefit from Poison Control’s advice

can give helpful advice over the phone that can indicate the transport priority of a patient

fax potential information on given reactions to the emergency physician at the hospital

If priority symptoms are present, the call should be created and an ambulance should be sent without delay
