You should contact Poison Control when:
A
- The calling party specifically request the advice of Poison Control (A complete call assessment should be done first)
- The crew on scene requests to be conference in with Poison Control
- The patient has take any combination of drugs, medications or poisonous substances where the patient would benefit from Poison Control’s advice

Methods of Communication
A
can give helpful advice over the phone that can indicate the transport priority of a patient
AND
fax potential information on given reactions to the emergency physician at the hospital

NOTE*
A
Always do a complete assessment prior to contacting Poison Control.
If priority symptoms are present, the call should be created and an ambulance should be sent without delay
