If caller refuses downstream or if it is not appropriate to use HealthLink

A

the EMCT must inform the DS, DO, or Charge Dispatcher and document the reason in the event

*Dispatchers should be looking for this documented information in the call when they are sending a unit to a call with Nurseline as the RAP

When transferring the caller the following information must be relayed

A
  • Callers name
  • Patients name
  • Callers phone number
  • Brief description of the medical problem
  • MPDS Call Category (e.g. Omega)
  • BCAS Event number - essential to track call
