Flap Pocket
(SA: 3/8” SL: 2.5) 1. Interface. 2. Sew welt centre. 3. Sew flap RST at 3/8”, 1.5 SL in the corners. Clip. 4. Fold the flap and stitch at 1/4”, trim excess. 5. Sew flap 3/8” from pocket placement, welt 1/2” apart. Angle in 2 stitches on welt. 6. Cut. 7. Add pocket bag to flap. 8. Sew the triangle. 8. Sew pocket lining to welt. Pleat. Sew together 1/2”.
Bound Pocket
(SA: 3/8” SL 2.5”) 1. Interface. Sew welts. 2. Place welts 3/4” apart. Sew SA notch to SA notch. 3. Cut. 4. Sew Triangles. 5. Sew pocket bag to upper welt. Sew pocket lining to lower welt. 6. Pleat and sew pocket bag 1/2”. 7. Add tailors tacks.
Welt Pocket
- Interface. Sew welt RST 3/8” in. 2. Welt on bottom, pocket bag on top, sew 3/4” apart angling in 2 stitches on bag. 3. Cut. 4. Add lining to welt. 5. Sew triangles. 6. Pleat and sew bag at 1/2”. 7. Edge stitch the welt.
Edge Stitched Patch Pocket
- Interface and press. 2. Sew lining to muslin, leaving 1 1/2” gap. 3. Flip, sew pocket at 3/8” around. 4. Trim, Flip, slip stitch opening closed. 5. Edge stitch around pocket, reinforcing the corner (1/4” in, 1/2” down).
Couture Patch Pocket
- Interface and press. 2. Sew lining to muslin, leaving 1 1/2” gap. 3. Flip, sew pocket at 3/8” around. 4. Trim, Flip, slip stitch opening closed. 5. Edge stitch lining 2” up one side. 6. Create a 1/4” grid and hand sew 2” up other side.
Inside Sewn Pocket
- Draw template on base. 2. Serge pocket and press at notches. 3. Match pocket edge with template, use a 3 SL and sew, matching notches and pivoting. 4. Wedge where the notches were and press.
