  • rapidly evolving ascending areflexic motor paralysis +/- sensory
  • dtrs disappear
  • MC anti-GM1
  • albuminocytologic dissociation (inc protein in CSF)
  • tx with IVIG or plasmapheresis
  • *steroids NOT proven helpful**
