- intended to validate the message and messenger, since Scriptures were still being written

- we can identify our gifts by recognizing how we impact others
- we can help each other understand their gifts by articulating to them how they affect us
- we only impact others and acknowledge others when active in ministry
- spiritual gifts are practical
