What is the purpose of the pneumatic system?

A
To provide hot, high temperatue are from the engines to various systems.
Engine start.
Cowl and wing anti-ice.
Air conditioning.
Pressurisation.

How is bleed air normally supplied?

A

From the 6th and 10th stage of the high pressure compressure of the engines. Normally from the 6th stage unless the demands of the system are higher.

What is the purpose of the isolation valve?

A

To connect/separate the left and right sides of the pneumatic system.

Aside from the engines, how else can air be supplied to the system?

A

From the APU through a load control valve, or by huffer cart.

How is the bleed air supply regulated or shutoff?

A

PRSOV. It modulates to keep the system pressure at 45 PSI.

A

At engine shutdown.
The controller signals are lost.
The engien fire pushlight has been pressed.
