A single layer of cells covering the different parts of a plant. Eg epidermis

A waxy layer covering the outer surface of plants

Plants that do not contain wood/Lignin. E.g. buttercup
Woody plants
Possess woody tissue e.g. oak

Openings in the stem of plants that allow gas exchange
Transpiration
Loss of water vapour from the leaves and other aerial parts of a plant
Stimulus
Anything that brings about a response in an organisms
Response
The effect the stimulus has on the organism activity
Tropism
The growth response of the plant to an environmental stimulus
Phototropism
Growth of plants in response to light
Geotropism
Growth of plants in response to gravity
gametes
Haploid cells capable of fusion
Pollination
The transfer of pollen from an anther to a stigma from the same species
