What do Xylem and Phloem do?
They transport things like water, mineral ions and sucrose around the plant.
What does the epidermal tissue in a leaf do?
Covers the whole plant
What is the equation for photosynthesis
Carbon dioxide + water —–> glucose +oxygen
—> = sunlight + chlorophyll
What is photosynthesis?
The process that produces food (glucose) in plants and algae.
Where does photosynthesis take place?
The chloroplasts
What do the chloroplasts contain and what does it do?
Chloroplasts contain a green substance called chlorophyll, which absorbs sunlight and uses it’s energy convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose. Oxygen is produced as a by-product
