Add surface area for roots to absorb nutrients

Plants- increase surface area for water absorption, increase mineral uptake especially phosphorus, growth factors, and antibiotics
Mycorrhizae- receive food from host plant (sucrose)

Does not take away from the plants health

Either across cell membranes or sock sleeve like

Extensions off mycorrhizae (do not tap into phloem)

What does fungi look like on roots?
Very white and covers most of the root/soil
