Holoplankton: lives as a plankton its whole life

Plankton that live in the superficial layer of the ocean
Epineuston live above

How are plankton divided based on horizontal distribution?
Neritic/Coastal or oceanic
How are plankton classified based on vertical distribution?
Epipelagic
Mesopelagic
Batipelagic
Abissopelagic
What are cyanobacteria?
Photosynthetic bacteria, sometimes can fix nitrogen
What are some species of phytoplankton?
Diatoms, dinoflagellates coccolithophores, Isochrysis
How are dinoflagellates visible?
When they bloom under higher temperatures, nutrients and light produce red toxins
What are some zooplankton species?
Ciliophora, foraminifera, artropoda, Mollusca,etc.
What is a krill?
Zooplankton that belongs to crustacea species
