Sagital plane
sections or planes divide the body into right and left parts. If that plane is at the center, dividing into equal right and left halves, it is referred to as a midsagittal section or plane

Transverse
sections or planes divide the body into superior and inferior parts. A transverse section would show anterior, posterior, right, and left but would have no superior and inferior dimensions. Commonly, transverse planes are called cross-sections.

Frontal plane (coronal)
sections or planes divide the body into anterior and posterior parts. A frontal section would show superior, inferior, right, and left but would have no anterior and posterior dimensions. A common alternative name for a frontal plane is a coronal plane.
